Norwegian Bunad and precious little girl at her finest | Fayetteville Children photography, NC
I wanted to come and share a picture or two with you all. I’ll quote Mom’s words from her Facebook post describing the picture because I’m not Norwegian, nor would I explain it in the correct and proper way. But, I do know that this dress was HAND KNIT just for Solveig to wear as her Grandmother wore and her Mother wore. It’s a special, special thing to them (the dress, the flag, and the spinning wheel). Now, that spinning wheel is the real deal. It is awesome, and I was petrified that something would happen to it. It’s old, antique really. Her Mom actually spun on this very wheel almost everyday from what I remember Kris explaining to me. She said May 17th is A BIG DAY for them in Norway; you can compare it to our 4th of July to some degree. The stories and traditions that Kris shared with me were fascinating, and the best part, was that she took the time to show me pictures. I love pictures of ALL kinds, so you know that was right up my alley! Solveig was right there beside us every step of the way. I cannot WAIT to share the pictures of her outside in her pretty little girl dress. I LOVE THEM!! The pictures below just show a very special meaning! And, we had to get them before she was too big for her dress which is right around the corner! Right Mom?
Mom’s Facebook post states “photo taken by Sherri Winstead – a local photographer in Fayetteville. Solveig is wearing a Norwegian bunad knitted by my cousin Hilde. The silver jewelry was a gift from my cousin Harald and his family. The small Norwegian flag was my mom’s that she got from her special aunt and uncle, Tante Nenne and Onkel Kasper. To all my Norwegian family — we love you and Happy 17th of May!!!”
I think that about sums it all up!

Client session slideshow galleries are fully functional again.
Hi everyone,
I posted before about a “glitch” in music being played in my client slideshows during a the most recent Adobe Flash upgrade. It has been corrected and fully functional for clients. I had to get all the information and do a clean uninstall of Adobe Flash player (which is done by an uninstaller program that you download from their site, not just under the Control Panel) and then delete other files that still lingered around in the computer. Then, I had to download and revert back to the previous version. I say this in case anyone else has had issues and wanted to know how to correct it for yourself. It didn’t allow for MP3′s to be played, so it can be anyone professional or personal that could use this information. For my clients, all I can say is “Yay”!

Announcement to all current clients | Technical difficulties
Hello everyone,
I wanted to take some time before getting prepped and ready to go for another newborn session this morning and give you all a heads up, specifically for current clients, that there is an issue with the slideshow gallery. All clients receive a slideshow gallery and online gallery to view for their ordering period. One of the best things, in my opinion, in your session experience with me is the slideshow set to music in the background. The music is the second best thing to view outside of the pictures themselves. Unfortunately, I finally heard back from the vendor support team and received word that it is a “bug” with the newest Adobe Flash Plugin. Yes, I upgraded. I always try to keep my computer updated. Here is the message I received. You will still receive your slideshow gallery, but all I can suggest is to turn on a little music before viewing it. LOL Honest, I have no other means of showcasing the music. I will however see if there is another option that I can do in the meantime. I appreciate your patience while I anxiously await a fix or “patch” for this error on their part.
Sherri:
With the release of Adobe Flash’s most recent player, 11.7, it introduced a bug that prevents flash from loading external MP3′s.
It’s a top priority for them to release a fix, and unfortunately in the meantime our hands are tied. We’ll continue to monitor the progress of this issue, and we’ll keep this ticket open and inform you of any updates that will rectify the situation.
Thanks for your patience on this matter.

Fayetteville newborn photography | a little princess
Today, I had the best time hanging out with the West family and their newborn baby girl. I was especially excited to see them because I had photographed their family and son a few years back! Now, she has a beautiful little girl with lots of hair and Momma’s looks! It’s nice to look like her Momma because her son looks just like his Daddy. He favors his Grandma, too. Miss Lila (love her name) was just as sweet as sweet can be. We had an open room with plenty of natural light to photograph her in. Grandma was also present to help with her session and what a help she was! Thank you so much for being there and working your tail off right alongside me Grandma. Mom was beautiful and doing too much if you ask me. LOL I felt bad because I kept acting like her Mom and wanting her to sit down, relax or she’ll be hurting the rest of the day. She was wonderful and is always one of the sweetest women you’ll ever meet, gorgeous too! She’ll blush to read this, but it’s the truth. Thank you again and your full gallery will be emailed later this afternoon. I can’t wait for you to see them all! Love them, love them, love them! Thank you for allowing me to be your newborn photographer and seeing you all again.
And yes, I promised Little Mister that we’d get a picture of him on his treasured Thomas the Tank Engine, and by golly, we did! Please make sure you show him his picture on the computer as I promised Mom.
